The Van Gogh's road

You’ll follow in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh by beginning with Arles, city which fascinated the painter. He stayed there between February 1888 and May 1889, leaving 300 drawings and paintings at the posterity. You can follow the steps of Van Gogh with a walking tour in the city, where you’ll discover the reproductions of his paintings to every supposed place where Van Gogh would have planted his easel (Café Terrace at Night, The Starry Night...). We’ll stop at the Pont Van Gogh (Van Gogh Bridge), where is the famous painting “Langlois Bridge with Washerwomen”.
Small roads bordered with fields of olive trees, will take us to explore one of “the most beautiful villages in France": Les Baux de Provence. This unique village, perched on a rocky outcrop 247 m high, will amaze you with its paved streets, its renaissance houses… The Baux Château, located at the top of the village, offers spectacular views of the vines, the olive groves, the Camargue… as far as the sea.
You can visit the Carrières de Lumières, ancient quarries of 20 meters high, dug by the hand of man, which will allow you to walk in a universe of images and original musics.
We’ll finish this private tour on the Van Gogh's road at Saint Rémy de Provence. Interned at the time in the Saint Paul de Mausole Monastery, there he painted his greatest masterpieces. You can follow a pedestrian circuit illustrated by 21 reproductions of paintings that he painted during his stay at Saint Remy and so you’ll immerse yourself into the universe of Van Gogh.
